Leader: Irving Daniel
In the absence of the pastor, the elders are recognized as the spiritual leaders of the church. They are therefore expected to conduct the services of the church and minister in both word and doctrine. The pastor and elders work together harmoniously to promulgate the gospel of Jesus Christ. As undershepherds, elders should exercise constant vigilance over the flock.
"Christ is the Chief Shepherd. He has entrusted the care of His flock to undershepherds. He requires these shepherds to have the same interest for His sheep which He has ever manifested, and to ever feel the responsibility of the charge He has entrusted to them." EGWhite-Spiritual Gifts V3, P123.
